What is the value of AIA to you?

The AIA serves as a professional, social and educational platform for my continued growth as an Architect. I value the sharing of information and experiences from colleagues.  AIA is the forum for design discussion, technical innovation and recognition of our best work.

How do you explain what you do for a living?

I tell people that I take ideas and turn them into built spaces that you can touch/ feel/ experience.

What inspired you today?

Curiosity.

Where is the field of architecture, engineering or construction headed?

Due to the innovations in the documentation process such as sharing Revit model platforms, these 3 team members are becoming more integrated earlier in the design process. A completely new delivery model is forming, which requires a higher degree of collaboration and problem solving earlier in the project design. The result will be more efficiencies during design and better documentation for the construction phase. I see a trend of more general contractors carrying in-house architects and engineers so clients can hire all the services from under one roof.
