Focusing on the Future of Planning 21st Century Learning Spaces w/ CAE

Join the Committee on Architects for Education for their first event and hear from Jeanne Narum about her national research on learning environments of the 21st century!

With a team of academic agents of change, Jeanne Narum produced an Learning Spaces Collaboratory (LSC) guide for planning which established a protocol of questioning to drive planning, beginning with: “what do we want our students to become?” More recently, she piloted LSC roundtables, exploring new ways to capitalize on lessons learned and catalyze a diverse community of stakeholders to explore and embrace questions about ‘what next.’ Some intriguing questions about how planning happens that are beginning to emerge are being shared with the broader community through the LSC website, LSC webinars, and in meetings with peers.

Speaker Bio

Jeanne L. Narum has orchestrated discussions for more than 25 years about how space matters to learning, working with architects and academics in developing and advocating best practices for planning undergraduate learning spaces. First as Director of Project Kaleidoscope (PKAL) and now as Principal—Learning Spaces Collaboratory (LSC), she challenges broad communities of stakeholders to collaborate.
