LEAN Healthcare Design and Construction Project Delivery w/ AHC

AHC’s Spring Conference is a series of presentations pertaining to LEAN methods for both design and construction.

This day-long event begins with a session by NBBJ on healthcare design and planning using LEAN delivery methods. A case study titled “IPD, Not just for the big boys and girls” will discuss the approach by OHSU, PKA, and Hoffman Construction Company at the OHSU Center for Health and Healing floors 12 and 15 to incorporate LEAN and IPD strategies on a smaller project scope and team.

The Onboarding and Project Tour – OHSU Knight Cancer Research Building will share Portland’s first true Integrated Project Delivery Project and LEED Platinum cancer research center. The KCRB is currently under construction by a highly-collaborative, innovative, and efficient team on Portland’s South Waterfront. The entire IPD team has been co-located since preconstruction and team collaboration has been practice every day. This presentation and tour will introduce the team’s mission to “Go Slow to Go Fast”. The session will begin at the project colocation building and in the “big room” conference area where attendees will go through the same onboarding presentation as those working on the project, then tour the colocation building, tour the KCRB site and return to do Q&A.
