Getting to Zero: Preparing for Net Zero

The first session of a four-part comprehensive educational series, Getting to Zero: Preparing for Net Zero delves into the next target of the 2030 Challenge—70% reduction—and beyond. Participants will explore both the technical skills and cross-disciplinary approaches essential for the planning, design, regulations, financing, and operations of net zero energy buildings.

Session 1 will explore our current state and the direction we are headed with net zero energy. This session will cover the support and opposition from key stakeholders, the actual cost-effectiveness, and feasibility of achieving net zero and its impacts beyond the individual scale into the greater community. Additional comparisons of new and existing net zero buildings, as well as major and minor alterations will be discussed.
