City Leaders Breakfast Series: Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda on What's Next for Housing
The AIA Seattle City Leaders Breakfast Series connects AIA Seattle members to elected officials, policymakers and thinkers who are transforming Seattle and the Puget Sound region in critical areas ranging from housing and homelessness to city design, sustainability, transportation and more. The series provides opportunities to learn about key issues impacting our communities and the built environment and to hear the viewpoints of and interact with leaders who are shaping our future.
Our inaugural series event will feature Seattle City Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda, who will join us for a discussion on What’s Next for Housing in Seattle, a look at the post-MHA agenda to address housing affordability in the city. We’ll discuss the future for ADUs in Seattle, as well as that of duplexes and triplexes, zoning changes, policy ideas around displacement and ties between transit and affordable housing.

About Teresa Mosqueda
Councilmember Mosqueda was elected to Seattle City Council Position 8, where she represents the entire city, in November 2017. She serves as chair of the Council’s Housing, Health, Energy & Workers’ Rights Committee, where she has worked to create more workforce housing and increase affordable housing options for low- and middle-income families. She has collaborated with her colleagues on ADU legislation and policies related to surplus public land. On other issues, Councilmember Mosqueda has been a strong champion for the health and welfare of all citizens and for workers’ rights.
