Nov 7: Proposal Deadline. Now accepting proposals for May 2009 Putting Houses to Work: Houses (both single- and multi-family) are more than just containers for human function. Innovative residential design puts houses to work as good citizens in their communities and environments, providing flexible, inspiring spaces that encourage and support the potential for a shared live-work environment. How are local residential designers rethinking the relationship of housing to urban living, energy, and community? Does our current regulatory environment promote or inhibit great residential design? Can young firms leverage success in the residential sector or invent new delivery methods for housing? In our changing economic climate, what are the opportunities and challenges that residential designers need to address?
