2008 Travel Scholarship Finalists

The Emerging Professionals Travel Scholarship seeks to expand the experience and leadership opportunities of young professionals, encourage cross-cultural dialogue in the profession, and share knowledge from architecture practice around the globe with members in Puget Sound. Through a $5000 grant, the scholarship supports travel for the purposes of research, community service, education, or collaboration.

Chelsea Gorkiewicz:
a proposal to explore the triple bottom line approach to sustainable design through a unique set of sustainable communities across Europe.

Jordan Pope: a visit to Shanghai to examine the lead up to the 2010 World Expo, culminating in a  video documentary and photo essay.

Bray Hayden: visiting organizations around the country who are pushing innovation in community design to better understand how they began and continue to operate.
