An Update from Rachel Minnery, AIA on Washington State Flood Damage Assessment

1)  Please respond to Volunteer Coordinator Bambi Chavez with your contact info, etc. if you haven't done so already
2)  Please REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE with on your availability for training this weekend if you haven't done so already.

Special notes and FAQ:
  • Yes, interns are very much welcome for training and most likely will be able to do damage assessments when accompanied by a licensed architect
  • Each training session this weekend is redundant, so you only need to attend one session
  • Should we have enough volunteers, we will provide training near Tacoma on Sunday afternoon.  You are welcome to attend this.  Please RSVP.
Tell your friends!  We need more volunteers!  many many thanks to you all.

Volunteers:

First, a BIG thanks on behalf of our friends in Lewis and Thurston County (and perhaps Grays Harbor and Mason counties) for offering to generously donate your time.  Please see summary of information available at this time.  Bambi Chavez will be our volunteer coordinator and you will likely hear from her soon if you haven't already so to gain more info on the availability/interest of you all.

THIS WEEKEND:  Please see times and locations below for training this Friday and Saturday.  Please RSVP (contact info below), however if you do not RSVP you are still welcome to attend (training is open to any architect or engineer, so please invite others).  Should we not have enough people sign up for training, we may cancel, so these plans MAY change as more info becomes available.  Please plan to be at one of the training sessions UNLESS you've had fairly recent ATC training, then it is not required, but highly recommended that you attend one of the training sessions.

To date, here's what the information I've gathered and assumptions I've made on how to proceed with a coordinated response effort.  Your input is greatly appreciated- let's keep this list updated.  Please especially note below where I have made requests of individuals. I apologize for jumping to any conclusions and inadvertently omitting any info (or individuals).  Please pass on as you feel appropriate and I am also available to answer any questions.
