See The Seattle Times Home/Real Estate section on Sunday, June 8th for the seventh annual Housing the Northwest feature.
Much as the Seattle Times/AIA Open House program has done (since 1954) to open residential design to the public, Housing the Northwest focuses public attention on diverse approaches to residential design for multifamily dwellings. This year, the June 8th multifamily housing tour features six projects in the greater Puget Sound region:
-Epi Apartments by Bumgardner
-El Rio/Julie Apartments and Lakeview Apartments by Tonkin Hoyne Lokan
-The Crawford by Runberg Architectural Group
-Palazzo II by Baylis Architects
-The Gilmore by GGLO
The Times feature will include full details of the open house program, including addresses and driving driving directions.
We thank all participating owners and architects, and the jurors who selected these projects from twenty entries:
 Grace Kim AIA, PLACE Architects
 Leslie Moldow AIA, Mithun
Elaine Day LaTourelle AIA, UW CAUP
 Karen Anderson-Bittenbender, Intracorp
 John Hunt, John Hunt Associates
"The different professional backgrounds of the jury members shed light on the many facets of housing development-density, affordability, and design just to name a few of the program points," notes CoChair Caroline Kreiser AIA, "yet the spirited discussion came to reach consensus rather smoothly, with only one or two issues remaining until the end."
