Home of the Year Announced 2/22/02

Before a popular and professional audience of nearly 450 at Kane Hall on the University of Washington Campus, Vancouver architect John Patkau Hon. FAIA offered "Pacific Northwest Houses," and an articulate jury -- John Eggleston AIA, artist Karen Guzak, and Peter Stoner AIA -- reviewed the homes featured during 2001 in the Seattle Times/AIA Open House program, and announced their selection of the Home of the Year:

Norway Hills Residence
Architect: Tim Rhodes AIA,
Rhodes Architecture + Light
Builder: Gabriele Homes

The residence appeared as the Times Open House November 4, 2001, with an article by Times staff reporter Elizabeth Rhodes, "Bothell home of modules is four times sweeter."

Seattle Times Pacific Northwest Magazine of February 24, 2002 highlighted the Home of the Year among all 14 residences featured during 2001 in the Seattle Times/AIA Open House program.

Seattle Times Senior Executive Editor Michael Fancher joined AIA Seattle President Steven N. Arai AIA and AIA Seattle Open House Committee CoChair Johan Luchsinger AIA in presenting the Home of the Year Award.

About 450 residential design fans came to review the projects and listen to John Patkau Hon. FAIA.
