Design
Great design is a critical component of livable and sustainable places. AIA Seattle will educate the public to demand great design at every scale, advocate for regulations that support great design, recognize and reward design excellence, support integrated collaborative processes that engage designers across disciplines, encourage a culture of design within our own organization, and promote the services of our members. 

 

Sustainability
Architects are uniquely equipped to take on the challenge of sustainability through both practice and leadership. AIA Seattle will educate our members to give them the tools they need to design better and greener, promote architects as a resource on questions of sustainability, advocate public policies that promote greener communities with smaller footprints, and promote honest dialogue about both successes and obstacles.

Advocacy
Because architects have valuable contributions to make and because our members grow through engaging with each other and the public, AIA Seattle will take and advocate for positions on major design-related issues, and empower our members to make a difference through advocacy.

Engagement
Architecture as a profession gains strength from inclusion of diverse ages, backgrounds, genders, and types of practice. AIA Seattle will promote engagement through the structure and pricing of our programs, the types of programs we offer, the dialogue we promote, and the deliberate cultivation of new talent from a diverse range of backgrounds.
