MEMBERSHIP TOWN MEETING Washington Legislative Session: Players Report 'From the Thick of It'

Wednesday February 19, 2003, 4-6pm
MulvannyG2, 1110 112th Ave. NE (Suite 500), Bellevue
CLICK HERE for map/directions, onsite parking available

With the "tough" 2003 legislative session under way in Olympia, please join the AIA Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and staff, and our hospitable colleagues at MulvannyG2 for a session with some of the dedicated people who advance the AIA legislative agenda.

We've invited some key players to bring the membership up to date on how the legislative priorities established by AIA Washington Council fare - and how others can help support and advance issues essential to design practice, with strategies for engaging with Washington's public leadership to address these. Although given their priorities in Olympia only some of these folks may actually appear at this session, all have committed to make sure the membership gets good information. Plan to hear and learn from
Mary Mauerman CAE, Executive Director, AIA Washington Council
Dick Robison AIA & Craig Curtis AIA, Architects and Engineers Legislative Council
Rich Wagner AIA, President, AIA Washington Council
Cliff Webster, Carney Badley Smith & Spellman, lobbyist for AIA Washington Council
Rob Widmeyer AIA, State Government Affairs Liaison

… and to focus on some of the key items facing our state's lawmakers and of interest and concern to design professionals, including:
Budget cuts affecting/deferring capital budget expenditures
• Review of the state fee schedule
• Potential tax(es) on professional services
• Adoption of revisions to the Building Code
… etc.

ALL WELCOME!
FREE to AIA Seattle Members, others @ $10.
Please click below for reservations, to assist planning for light refreshments.

NOTE: the action and advocacy agenda continues March 10, with AIA Capitol Connections in Olympia, a conference for design professionals presented by AIA Washington Council.
