Rysia Suchecka, a Partner at NBBJ, brings a unique eye and style to the practice of interior design. Her work as director of NBBJ's interior design studio has brought national and international recognition, including her 1998 induction into the Interior Design Magazine Hall of Fame. Her passion for her work and her intuition about what makes spaces memorable and emotionally rewarding inspires the architects and artists with whom she collaborates.
Rysia began her education at the Polish Academy of Arts and moved to the US in 1971, completing interior design studies at Pratt University. She joined NBBJ in 1981, and has worked on such notable projects as Applied Voice Technology Corporate Offices in Kirkland, the renovation of Seat-tle's Edmond Meany Hotel, the Global Gateway in Changwon, Gene Juarez Spa and Salon in Tacoma, and Safeco Field. She has traveled extensively, studying the architecture and design of many cultures, and brings this depth of knowledge and experience to her design. Recognizing her contribution to the interdisciplinary practice which achieves successful design, AIA Seattle welcomed Rysia Suchecka as an Honorary Member in 2000.
All welcome to share the experience and inspiration of this presentation.
