Noah's Ark at the Skirball

As a long time proponent of great design within the Seattle community, I've been reaching out within our city for fifteen years: to teach at the University of Washington, to help found and sustain non-profit arts/architecture organizations such as space.city and Arcade, to bring pro-bono design to our churches, to build momentum for sustainable environments. I believe in our passion as architects and its infectious power to create a vibrant urban life, and unique spatial experiences within our built environment and our landscapes. As an AIA Seattle Board member I applaud the AIA's efforts to reach out to communities outside our own, and to engage the consultants and the contractors, the fabricators and the artists who bring our work to life. I would continue this focus, continue reaching out to city officials, our clients, and the public, so that they may come to know the delight and wonder of what it is that we devote our lives to.
