2007 Honor Award

During the last year, I have had the honor of serving as a Special Director on AIA Seattle's Board. The experience has been personally very rewarding, and I have broadened my own horizons by reaching out to participate in our professional community. While it has been invigorating to engage in a dialogue about critical issues facing the profession, the one-year term has gone by quickly. I would like to continue contributing as a director (3-year term) to insure continuity and allow enough time for follow-through on important long term issues.
My architectural career has been focused primarily on the design of large, complex buildings. Design excellence is a driving passion for me. I truly believe architecture can shape the civic aspirations and public life of our city and our region. As an AIA Seattle Board Member, I will use the depth of my experience to meet the future challenges facing Seattle's design community. I will strive to open communication with the community, engage opinion inside and outside the profession, and encourage broad participation. Most importantly, I will reinforce the value and the power of great design. I look forward to continuing to serve you and our profession.
