Home of the Month Committee

Public Awareness
Beginning in 1954, The Seattle Times and AIA Seattle partnered to create and deliver regular feature publication of architect-designed residences. The Sunday feature included a public open house, typically attracting several hundred individuals. The Times/AIA Open House Committee has met at noon on the first Tuesday of each month to select projects for the feature from submitted applications, and to plan the annual (most recent March 12, 2004; previous: March 14, 2003) Home of the Year event. In 2004, the program observed its 50th anniversary.
