* Accessibility: The IBC contains direction about the scope of accessibility requirements. ANSI A117.1 contains the technical information. (Yes, you need a copy!) So, IBC will tell you how many accessible lavatories you need, and then ANSI will tell you exactly what an accessible lavatory is. Note that Washington State has some amendments to the code.
* Washington State currently uses the 1998 ANSI, but will switch to the 2003 ANSI on July 1st, 2005. You can buy commentaries from ICC.
In addition, a book by Francis Ching & Steven Winkel, Building Codes Illustrated: A Guide to Understanding the International Building Code which is highly recommended but please note this is based on the 2000 IBC not the current 2003 version.
