This Task Force originated at a special meeting of AIA Seattle past Presidents in late June 2005 with AIA 2007 President R K Stewart FAIA. Along with other AIA150 champions from around the AIA nation, Peter David Greaves AIA attended a training session in early November 2005, aimed at helping guide local observances of the national celebration (centered around activities April 2007) of the 150th anniversary of the founding of The American Institute of Architects.

"In 2007, the Members of The American Institute of Architects will mark the AIA's 150 years of service to the profession and the nation by working with their communities to create a better future by design."
