Uniting the Generations .
Honoring the signing of the charter for AIA in Seattle and Washington -- on August 4, 1894 - the current AIA Seattle team invites ALL MEMBERS to share in the observation, and birthday cake from Remo Boracchini. We'll also celebrate a special honor to Seattle architect Jane Hastings FAIA, recently selected as the first recipient of the AIA Northwest + Pacific Region Medal of Honor.

The Board of Directors also extends a special welcome to
. NEW MEMBERS who have joined AIA in the past year
. 20 YEARS+ MEMBERS demonstrating sustained commitment and urges all to join in a special feature of this event:

Remembering and Predicting
With lengths of paper marked off into decades, attendees will help initiate a "do-it-yourself" history. Together, those on hand (and visitors throughout the month of August) will document memories of significant events from the past, and also hopes and dreams for phenomena yet to emerge, related to the design and building professions and the people involved then, now, and in the future. Come prepared with historical references and documents, or just walk in with whatever you happen to have in mind on this August occasion .
